Typhoon Maysak Hits Ulithi Atoll - Your Help Is Needed

By Brian Hutchinson

On March 31, Super Typhoon Maysak passed directly over Ulithi Atoll in the Federated States of Micronesia (where we have been supporting community-based marine conservation programs since 2004) causing unprecedented damage. Homes, schools, and other infrastructure were all destroyed, and food, fresh water, and supplies are now urgently needed. Brad Holland, a photographer currently in Ulithi, said of the damage, "There's not one thing that's not destroyed on the island."

If you are able to make a donation, please consider contributing any amount to Pacific Missionary Aviation (click here to donate), as they are currently coordinating the purchase and transport of relief supplies to Ulithi and Fai Atolls. Your support is urgently needed to help the people of Ulithi recover from this disaster.

To learn more about the situation in Ulithi and the relief efforts, please visit the PMA website, or the Facebook page of photographer Brad Holland for ongoing updates.
