Fiji: Snorkeling Rainbow Reef and Namena Island

Explore the "soft coral capital of the world" from the comfort of this idyllic island paradise with options to scuba dive or snorkel, bird watch, and more.

Overview

  • 3 full days snorkeling on pristine Vuna Reef and legendary Rainbow Reef, known as the "soft coral capital of the world."
  • 4 full days at Namena Barrier Reef, one of Fiji's most spectacular and diverse reef ecosystems, designated as a marine reserve since 2004.
  • See red-footed boobies, fruit bats, and endemic rails in virgin forest.

The Fijian archipelago encompasses one of the most extensive coral reef systems in the world, hosting an extraordinary variety of marine organisms, including more than 1,200 species of fish and countless invertebrates. This expedition offers snorkeling and diving at Fiji's remote, colorful reefs, and includes an introduction to Taveuni and Namena Islands' beautiful flora and fauna.

Our expedition begins on Taveuni, the "garden island" of Fiji, shrouded in rainforest with rich volcanic soils. Offshore we explore the dazzling Vuna and Rainbow Reefs for three full days. Next we visit Namena, a dramatic island of white sand beaches and forests where many unique bird species are found. From our cliffside resort we spend four days snorkeling or diving Namena Barrier Reef.
