About This Trip

The Fijian archipelago encompasses one of the most extensive and healthy reef systems in the world. With more than 4,000 square miles of coral reefs spread around more than 300 islands, the snorkeling in Fiji is undoubtedly some of the best there is. But, knowing where to go and how to fit it all in to your trip can be a challenge. Thankfully, we've done the legwork for you and put together the perfect Fiji snorkeling tour. Our itinerary will have you immersed in Fiji's most pristine and colorful reefs throughout your trip, all in 80-degree water with crystal-clear visibility. After each day's adventures, you'll have plenty of time to relax under the shade of palm trees and lounge on the world renowned beaches of this tropical paradise.

Fiji Snorkel Trip Highlights:

  • Snorkel Fiji’s legendary Rainbow Reef. Known as the “soft coral capital of the world” Rainbow Reef encompasses 4,000 square kilometers of vibrant coral gardens. We'll have three days to snorkel here, plenty of time to hit all of the best sites.
  • Explore Beqa Lagoon's vast reef systems. Nestled among tropical paradise, Beqa Lagoon boasts more than 100 top snorkel sites spread along 190 miles of pristine coastline. With 5 full days to explore Beqa Lagoon, we'll have the explore an impressive range of species and habitats.
  • Discover the ancient traditions of Fijian culture. Throughout our journey we'll make time to enjoy traditionally prepared meals, local dance performances, and will have the chance to drink kava, the famous Fijian root beverage.
  • Learn about conservation efforts. Your guides and our local partners will introduce you to efforts to protect marine ecosystems in Fiji and worldwide.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Nadi | Travel to Taveuni - Sau Bay

  • Meet at the Nadi International Airport then fly to Matei Airport, Taveuni.
  • Upon arrival, our driver will greet you and take you down to the landing (20 minute drive) for your boat transfer to Sau Bay Resort & Spa (20 minutes), a sustainable and eco-friendly oceanfront resort with a focus on marine and coral reef preservation and restoration. Spend a relaxing evening at the resort.

Days 2-5: Snorkeling Fiji’s Rainbow Reef

  • Explore Sau Bay's healthy house reef that is perfect for snorkeling. The depth ranges from 3 feet to 90 feet.  Expect to see both hard and soft corals with plenty of little and medium-sized fish, moray eels, octopus, and squid.  There is even have a "house sea turtle" that you have a good chance of swimming with.  Several healthy coral bommies are also located at the entrance of the Bay. 
  • Snorkel Rainbow Reef, iconified by vibrant flowing corals and 25+ accessible snorkel sites - including the Great White Wall, Cabbage Patch, and Fish Factory - all blanketed in clear, calm, and warm water.
  • Get a taste of Fijian culture through a kava ceremony, dance and music performances, and traditionally prepared foods.

Day 6: Travel to Beqa Lagoon | Enjoy Island Paradise

  • Fly to Suva or Nadi and embark by boat to Beqa Island to check in at Beqa Lagoon Resort, which boasts Fijian style villas set amid tropical gardens just steps from the beach.
  • Enjoy a relaxing evening in this island paradise.

Days 7–11: Snorkeling in Fiji’s Beqa Island's Reefs

  • Breakfast at the resort, then embark to explore some of the 100+ pristine snorkel sites teeming with marine life.
  • Recharge each evening at Beqa Lagoon Resort. Enjoy meke (a traditional Fijian performance), a traditional lovo feast, and other cultural highlights.
  • Learn about conservation efforts protecting Fiji’s marine ecosystems.

Day 12: Return to Nadi | Fly home

  • Travel by boat to Pacific Harbor, take a scenic drive to Nadi International Airport.
  • Explore Nadi on your own, the international hub of Fiji famous for hot springs, botanical gardens, Hindu temples, and multi-cultural cuisine, before your evening flight back home.
