Les Kaufman, Ph.D. is a professor of biology at Boston University and an evolutionary ecologist with deep expertise in coral reef and freshwater ecosystem conservation. He’s led global efforts to establish marine protected areas, restore reef habitats, and shape conservation policy. He is a Pew Marine Fellow and AAAS Fellow. Les has worked with Oceanic Society for decades, including in Belize at our former Blackbird Caye Field Station.
