Job Title: Content Manager, Travel Program
Location: Remote (U.S.)

Overview
Oceanic Society seeks an experienced Content Manager to join our dynamic travel team and help supercharge our growth. As an integral part of our team, you will report to the Co-CEO and collaborate closely with our Conservation Travel team to create engaging and goal-oriented content that helps our expeditions shine at every stage of the funnel.
Beyond typical adventure travel experiences, Oceanic Society Expeditions directly contribute to ocean conservation through our unique business model and status as America’s original ocean nonprofit. Your work will impact the travelers who partake in our expeditions and support our charitable mission to improve ocean health.
Every day you’ll be:
- Producing copy that engages, informs, and inspires our current and prospective customers to take part in our new and existing expeditions.
- Editing, copywriting, and optimizing travel-related web pages to improve user experience, attract leads, and convert visitors into clients.
- Repurposing and optimizing travel-related content for multiple channels and audience segments.
- Developing and implementing marketing automations that support an effective sales process.
- Reviewing and coordinating travel-related social, blog, and other content produced by staff, trip leaders, and contractors.
- Monitoring and reporting analytics to contribute to an iterative, goal-driven content strategy.

Job Duties
Content Production and Coordination
- Develop and write blog posts and other marketing content (PDF guides, FAQs) in alignment with marketing and sales strategies
- Review and edit blog post drafts from staff and contract writers, ensure alignment with strategy
- Review and edit social media content
- Contribute to the development and implementation of social media content strategy
- Review and edit detailed trip itinerary PDFs (design, writing)
- Review and optimize travel-related web pages at every stage of the funnel in alignment with SEO and sales goals
- Coordinate development of blog content by staff and contractors
- Develop and implement new travel landing webpages (in WordPress) to support business needs/strategy
- Write and edit content for annual print and PDF Expeditions Catalog – includes trip descriptions, marketing copy
- Coordinate production of annual print and PDF Expeditions Catalog
- Manage and organize incoming media (photos, videos) from trip leaders and others
- Identify and track web development needs; communicate needs to web developers and coordinate implementation
- Work with travel team to solicit passenger testimonials and reviews; integrate reviews into web pages to support sales conversion goals.
Automation, CRM
- Implement marketing automations (email sequences, lead capture, asset delivery) in HubSpot to support sales goals.
- Develop automated sales email sequences in HubSpot.
- Create and implement lead capture forms in HubSpot.
- Explore the development of a chatbot or text snippets to support customer service.
Research, Monitoring, and Reporting
- Monitor and report analytics (quarterly) for travel-related marketing, including web analytics, sales by channel, ROI of marketing channels
- Conduct SEO research in support of content goals
Skills & Qualifications
Required:
A successful applicant will possess all of the following required skills and qualifications.
- Proven experience in a content role
- Excellent copywriting skills and an eye for design
- Commitment to Oceanic Society’s mission
- Proven experience at a relevant brand, marketing agency, or travel business
- Experience implementing marketing / email automations with an eye toward analytics
- A good understanding of standard and current SEO practices
- Experience working with CMS and building/administering content
- Proficiency with an array of relevant tools and software
- 3+ years of experience in similar roles
Preferred:
- Passion for nature and ocean conservation
- Travel industry experience
- Personal or professional travel experience
- Located in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area
