About This Trip
This three-night extension adds a dedicated stretch of whale shark snorkeling and island exploration to your Baja expedition, based out of the lively waterfront city of La Paz. Over two full days on the water, mornings are spent in the observation zone just offshore, where whale sharks gather to feed in shallow, well-regulated waters, a rare setup that makes close encounters with these gentle giants both accessible and sustainably managed. After a picnic lunch, afternoons shift to snorkeling the clear coves of Balandra Bay or the picturesque southern coastline of Espíritu Santo Island, alternating between the two depending on conditions.
A third day is spent entirely at Espíritu Santo's northern end, a UNESCO World Heritage Site prized for its layered desert cliffs and abundant tropical fish. Between excursions, you'll return each evening to Hotel Catedral in the heart of La Paz, with easy access to the city's waterfront promenade, markets, and restaurants. It's a compact, activity-dense way to round out a Baja trip with two of the region's signature wildlife experiences, whale sharks and the Sea of Cortez's protected island reefs.
What's Included
Three nights at Hotel Catedral in La Paz (or equivalent), guided boat-based excursions, a bilingual naturalist, daily breakfast and lunch, snorkeling gear, and transfer to Los Cabos airport.
What's Not Included
International airfare, single supplement ($355), dinners, alcoholic beverages, gratuities, and any activities not described. A small group supplement fee will apply if the group is less than 4 passengers. All Oceanic Society General Terms and Conditions apply.

Transfer to La Paz for two full days on the water. Mornings are spent snorkeling with whale sharks in their feeding grounds just offshore, followed by a picnic lunch and an afternoon snorkeling the calm waters of Balandra Bay or the southern coastline of Espíritu Santo Island, alternating between the two across the two days.
Accommodations
You'll stay for three nights at Hotel Catedral in La Paz (or equivalent), a comfortable, centrally located hotel within easy walking distance of the city's waterfront malecón, restaurants, and markets.
