Cachalote Explorer

Home / Ships / Cachalote Explorer

The Cachalote Explorer is a classic expedition-style yacht built for adventure and exploration throughout the Galápagos Islands. Originally constructed in Vancouver, Canada, for the rough North Pacific waters, its sturdy steel hull provides exceptional stability, ideal for navigating the archipelago in comfort. Accommodating just 16 guests in eight air-conditioned cabins with private bathrooms, the yacht offers a relaxed, small-group atmosphere with personalized service. Guests can unwind in the panoramic salon, dine together after a day of exploration, or take in the views from the spacious sun decks. With expert naturalist guides and thoughtfully designed itineraries, the Cachalote Explorer delivers an authentic Galápagos experience, combining close wildlife encounters, active excursions, and the charm of a small expedition vessel.

The Cachalote Explorer offers the option of 6, 8, and 15-day Galapagos Islands small boat cruise itineraries that visit selected sites which are approved by the Galapagos National Park. Each of these is unique and offers the opportunity to experience Galapagos up close and personal with a small group led by a highly experienced naturalist guide. The two 8-day itineraries are able to be combined to form a 15-day itinerary, which we highly recommend for those travelers who would like to have a complete, in-depth Galapagos Islands small boat cruise.
