We are pleased to share that Oceanic Society is among four nonprofit organizations featured in a new campaign from Planet Oat Oatmilk in celebration of Earth Day, April 22, 2022.

The centerpiece of the campaign is a television commercial that will air this morning during Good Morning America (ABC), The Today Show (NBC), and CBS Mornings (CBS), as well as in the evening on ABC, CBS, and NBC. You can also watch and share the commercial at PlanetOat.com. Titled “Oh, What a Planet,” the campaign celebrates organizations working to protect and conserve nature that have been sponsored by Planet Oat through their Planet Oat Project.

Oceanic Society is featured in an Earth Day television commercial from Planet Oat Oatmilk that is airing during major television programming in the U.S. on April 21 and 22, 2022.

In addition to showcasing Oceanic Society’s work to improve ocean health, the campaign highlights the efforts of Clean Trails, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, and One Tree Planted to protect wildlife and habitats worldwide, and encourages all of us to take a moment to appreciate our wondrous planet and the organizations that work to protect it.

About Our Partnership with Planet Oat

Oceanic Society has been receiving support from Planet Oat since 2020 as part of their Planet Oat Project, the brand’s pledge to support organizations that better the world we live in.  In August 2021, Planet Oat brand ambassadors joined Oceanic Society staff and partners on a special expedition to Belize to explore the Mesoamerican Reef and document the ocean research and conservation work taking place there. During the expedition we gathered footage to produce a short educational film about the value of sustainable tourism to ocean conservation in Belize and worldwide, released in early 2022.

Planet Oat’s support this year will go toward our global programs to connect people to the ocean and build a movement dedicated to solving the key ocean problems of our time, from plastic pollution to unsustainable fishing and aquaculture and climate change. We look forward to sharing more information about our partnership throughout the year.

Happy Earth Day!

Earth Day is an annual event held each April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection and celebrate our shared home. We hope that wherever you are and however you choose to celebrate Earth Day in 2022, that you will find some time to enjoy and appreciate all that our beautiful planet has to offer.

If you are looking for ways to celebrate or to get involved in your community this Earth Day, visit www.earthday.org for a list of local events, or take action from home by signing up for our 7-Day Fight Plastic Waste challenge.
